Invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom, intellect, and new beginnings, with this 5-inch handcrafted brass idol. The statue features Ganesha in a majestic seated posture, enclosed within an intricately carved arch (Prabhavali) that symbolizes divine protection and cosmic energy. The fine detailing—from the expressions on Ganesha’s serene face to the ornamental arch and his symbolic items (modak, axe, noose, and gesture of blessing)—makes this idol a stunning blend of spiritual significance and artisan craftsmanship. Perfect for home temples, offices, or as a meaningful gift during housewarmings, weddings, Diwali, or new ventures, this idol radiates auspiciousness and elegance in any setting. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

5″ Lord Ganesha Idol with Arch | Handcrafted Panchaloha

This 5-inch Ganesha idol, measuring 5″H x 4″W x 2.5″D and weighing 600 grams, is cast in Panchaloha, the traditional five-metal alloy used in South Indian temple iconography for over a millennium. The piece depicts Ganesha in a seated posture on a tiered lotus base, set within a fully cast Prabhavali — an arched aureole with foliate detailing, pierced roundels along its border, and a crowning finial at the apex.

Each idol of this type is shaped through a labour-intensive lost-wax casting process, where the sculptor builds up the form in wax, encases it in clay, and pours molten metal into the resulting mould. What distinguishes pieces at this scale is the post-cast finishing work: the chasing of surface detail by hand, the articulation of Ganesha's four arms each holding a distinct attribute — modak, axe, noose, and an open gesture of blessing — and the careful rendering of the facial expression, which here reads as composed and inward-facing. The Prabhavali arch carries layered foliage carving along its curve, requiring separate casting and assembly.

In Indian devotional tradition, Ganesha is invoked at the outset of any significant undertaking — a new home, a business, a ritual, a journey. His form as Vighnaharta, the remover of obstacles, makes him the first among deities to be installed and worshipped.

Panchaloha is an alloy of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron, proportioned according to Agamic tradition. It is valued for its density, its warm reddish-gold tone, and its ritual sanctity — temple idols across South India have been cast in this material for generations. The polished finish on this piece brings out the metal's natural warmth and surface depth, visible clearly in the high-relief areas of the arch and the figure's ornamentation.

Because this idol is individually handcrafted, natural variation in surface tone and texture should be expected between pieces. This idol is suited to a home puja room, a personal altar, or as a considered gift for housewarmings, Diwali, or new ventures.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
