About This Piece

Brass Krishna Spoon Frame for Home Décor & Gifting | Handcrafted Brass Art Frame

This handcrafted brass frame, measuring 19 inches high by 11 inches wide and 2 inches deep, presents a traditional brass spoon surmounted by a sculpted figure of Lord Krishna, set against a layered wooden and fabric-backed frame. The piece weighs 900 grams and is finished in antique polish.

The brass spoon itself is cast with considerable attention to traditional form. The bowl end features ornate floral and foliate detailing at its base, while the handle rises through a turned, tapering stem into a sculpted figure of Krishna at the crown. The Krishna figure is rendered in a tribhanga posture — the characteristic triple-bend stance associated with the deity — and appears to be playing the flute, with fine casting visible in the arms, crown, and garments. The spoon as a ritual object carries deep roots in Indian puja practice, used for offerings of water, ghee, and sacred substances, and its elevation here into a framed art object reflects a considered merging of functional devotional form with display craftsmanship. The wooden frame is layered, with an outer green fabric surround and an inner orange fabric panel that creates contrast and draws the eye directly to the brass piece mounted at center.

Krishna in Indian tradition represents devotion, musical joy, and dharmic guidance. The tribhanga form is one of the most studied and replicated postures in Indian sculptural history, used across temple art, bronze casting, and manuscript illustration for over a millennium.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been the primary material for Indian ritual and decorative metalwork for centuries. Its density gives weight and presence to cast forms, while its workability allows for fine surface detail. The antique polish finish deepens the warm golden tone of the metal, giving the surface a sense of age and gravity that a bright finish does not achieve.

As with all handcrafted brass work, minor variation in surface texture, tone, and fine detail is inherent to the process and distinguishes each piece as individually made. This frame suits a home altar, an interior wall in a living or study space, or presentation as a considered gift for housewarmings or religious occasions.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
