This standing Krishna idol, cast in super fine brass, stands 7.5 inches (19 cm) tall, 2.5 inches (7 cm) wide, and 2 inches (5.5 cm) deep, weighing approximately 350 g, and depicts Lord Krishna in the classic tribhanga posture — the three-point standing bend at the neck, torso, and knee — playing the flute, set on a finely worked round base.

The sculpture is produced using traditional lost-wax casting, a technique that allows the layered ornamentation across this piece to be rendered with precision and retained edge clarity at every level of the composition. The figure stands in a graceful contrapposto with the right leg crossed lightly over the left at the ankle, the body curving gently through the hip and shoulder as both hands are raised to hold the flute at the lips. The crown is tall and elaborately tiered, with a peacock feather rising from its crest — a detail rendered cleanly at this scale. A large circular halo frames the head, its rim worked with fine bead and petal ornamentation. The torso carries layered necklaces, armlets, and a long garland descending from the shoulders, with relief-worked cloth draped and gathered at the waist and thighs in the manner of classical temple iconography. A small pot is visible hanging at one side, and a parrot or bird figure appears at the lower right — both iconographic markers common to devotional representations of this form. The round base is built in graduated tiers decorated with scrollwork and relief animals, each ring cleanly resolved. Super fine brass casting is what enables this level of detail — ornamentation that retains sharpness across both raised and recessed surfaces.

Krishna in the flute-playing tribhanga posture — known as Venugopal — is one of the most widely represented forms in Indian devotional art. The image carries associations with bhakti, with the power of music as a spiritual vehicle, and with Krishna's role as the supreme enjoyer and the source of joy in the Vaishnava tradition. This form is present across temple sculpture, miniature painting, and home worship throughout the Indian subcontinent.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been central to Indian devotional metalwork for centuries. It holds fine cast detail with fidelity, carries a warm tonal depth that develops with time, and is structurally durable — qualities that make it suited for both active ritual use and long-term display.

This piece carries a polished finish, visible in the bright silver-gold tone across the figure and the strong contrast between raised relief ornament and recessed surrounds. The finish gives the surface a reflective clarity that draws attention to the density of the decorative work across the crown, torso, garlands, and tiered round base. Handcrafted pieces carry natural variation in surface texture and tone between individual sculptures.

This Krishna idol is well suited for a home puja room, a personal altar, gifting on occasions such as Janmashtami or housewarming ceremonies, or as a collector's piece in classical Indian devotional sculpture.

Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
