A serene and devotional depiction of Lord Hanuman, this handcrafted panchaloha sculpture captures him in Anjali Mudra, symbolising surrender, humility, and unwavering bhakti. Finished in a warm wood-patina tone, it carries the earthy charm of traditional South Indian bronze art. Hanuman standing with folded hands represents inner strength guided by devotion, making this a beautiful piece for altars, study tables, and meditation corners. Care: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and chemicals to preserve the patina. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. About This Piece

6″ Hanuman (Anjali Mudra) | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Wood Patina

This 6-inch standing figure of Lord Hanuman in Anjali Mudra is cast in Panchaloha, the traditional five-metal alloy used in South Indian devotional sculpture, and finished in a warm wood patina tone. The piece measures 6 inches in height and weighs 350 grams, giving it a solid, grounded presence despite its compact form.

The sculpture is shaped through a casting and hand-finishing process rooted in classical South Indian iconographic tradition. The figure stands upright on a tiered circular base with engraved detailing along its rim, his hands pressed together in Anjali Mudra at chest height. The four arms are rendered with care — one pair joined in devotion, the remaining hands holding a gada and what appears to be a folded tail curving behind the body. The crown is tall and layered, with fine surface work across the kireetam. The dhoti falls in close-set vertical folds from waist to ankle, a mark of the formal iconographic style used in classical South Indian murti-making. Ear ornaments and a broad ornamental band across the chest are visible and cleanly cast.

In the Vaishnava and Shaiva traditions alike, Hanuman in Anjali Mudra represents the highest expression of bhakti — strength held entirely in service and surrender. This posture is not one of passivity but of conscious devotion, and it is among the most venerated forms of Hanuman in South Indian temple iconography.

Panchaloha, composed of gold, silver, copper, brass, and iron in traditional proportions, has been the standard alloy for consecrated South Indian idols for over a thousand years. It is valued for its density, its capacity to hold fine detail through casting, and its long-term structural integrity.

The wood patina finish gives the surface a deep, earthy brown tone with subtle warmth across raised areas, visible clearly in the crown and chest detailing. As with all handcrafted pieces, minor variation in surface tone and texture is inherent to the process and reflects the individual hand that finished it.

This piece suits a home puja room, a personal altar, or a meditation corner where a devotional object of modest scale and considered craft is appropriate.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
