Invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom, intellect, and new beginnings, with this 5-inch handcrafted brass idol. The statue features Ganesha in a majestic seated posture, enclosed within an intricately carved arch (Prabhavali) that symbolizes divine protection and cosmic energy. The fine detailing—from the expressions on Ganesha’s serene face to the ornamental arch and his symbolic items (modak, axe, noose, and gesture of blessing)—makes this idol a stunning blend of spiritual significance and artisan craftsmanship. Perfect for home temples, offices, or as a meaningful gift during housewarmings, weddings, Diwali, or new ventures, this idol radiates auspiciousness and elegance in any setting. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

5″ Lord Ganesha Idol with Arch | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Green Patina

This 5-inch Ganesha idol, measuring 5″H x 4″W x 2.5″D and weighing 600 grams, is cast in Panchaloha — the traditional South Indian five-metal alloy — and finished in an antique green patina that gives the surface a weathered, aged quality consistent with classical temple bronzes.

The figure is rendered in a seated posture with four arms, each holding a distinct iconographic attribute. The casting captures layered ornamental detail across the crown, torso, and draped lower garment, with the arch — known as a Prabhavali — rising behind the figure in a fully worked surround of foliate scrollwork and pierced detailing. The Prabhavali frames Ganesha within a defined visual field and rests on a stepped rectangular base with its own surface patterning. At the base of the figure, the vahana — Ganesha's mouse — is rendered in small but deliberate form. Each element follows South Indian iconographic convention, where proportion, gesture, and attribute placement carry precise ritual meaning.

Ganesha is invoked at the outset of any significant undertaking — a new home, a business venture, a ceremony, or a period of study. As the deity of intellect, discernment, and the removal of obstacles, his form is among the most consistently present in Indian devotional life across regional and sectarian traditions.

Panchaloha is a consecrated alloy composed of five metals — gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron in prescribed proportions — used in South Indian temple sculpture for over a millennium. The alloy is valued for its density, its capacity to hold fine surface detail through casting, and its long-term stability. The green patina applied here references the natural oxidation that develops on aged bronze, giving the piece the visual weight of an heirloom object.

As with all handcrafted work, the surface texture, depth of patina, and tonal variation will differ slightly between individual pieces. This is inherent to the process and not a defect. This idol suits a puja room, home altar, office shrine, or presentation as a considered gift for housewarmings, Diwali, or new ventures.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
