This standing Balaji idol, cast in super fine brass, stands 5.5 inches (14 cm) tall, 1.5 inches (4 cm) wide, and 1.5 inches (4 cm) deep, weighing approximately 220 g, and depicts Lord Venkateswara in a formal frontal posture on an ornately carved square base bearing the figure of Garuda at its center.

The sculpture is produced using traditional lost-wax casting, a technique that allows the density of ornamentation visible across this piece to be reproduced with precision and consistency. The figure stands in a composed, upright stance with four arms clearly articulated — the upper right hand holds a Sudarshana Chakra, the upper left carries a Panchajanya conch, the lower right is extended in varada mudra, and the lower left rests near the hip in a gesture of assurance. The torso is layered with multiple strands of beaded necklaces, ornamental chains, and relief-worked garlands that extend from the neck to the lower chest. The tall, tapered kiritamukuta crown is rendered with fine granular detailing that reads clearly even at this scale. The square base carries scrollwork and sculptural ornament on all visible faces, with the Garuda motif anchoring the composition below the deity's feet. Super fine brass casting is known for producing this level of crispness — ornamentation that retains clarity and edge definition, with a surface that holds both highlight and shadow simultaneously.

Venkateswara, enshrined at Tirumala, is one of the most widely venerated forms of Vishnu in South Indian tradition. He is understood as the presiding deity of the present age, Kaliyuga, and is approached by devotees across communities and regions as a source of protection, fulfillment, and liberation. The standing posture with four arms, the Chakra and Shankha, and the Garuda base all carry specific iconographic meaning rooted in Vaishnava theological tradition.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been used in Indian devotional metalwork for centuries. It holds fine cast detail with fidelity, carries a warm tonal depth that deepens over time, and is structurally durable — qualities that make it suitable for both active ritual use and long-term display.

This piece carries a polished finish, evident in the bright, warm silver-gold tone across the figure and the strong contrast between the raised relief ornament and its recessed surrounds. The finish gives the surface a mirror-like clarity that highlights the density of the decorative work. Handcrafted pieces carry natural variation in surface texture and tone between individual sculptures.

This Balaji idol is well suited for a home puja room, a personal altar dedicated to Vaishnava worship, or as a considered gift for housewarmings, Vaikunta Ekadashi, and collectors of classical South Indian devotional sculpture.

Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
