This handcrafted Vishnu and Lakshmi idol, cast in super fine brass, stands 4 inches (10 cm) tall, 3 inches (8 cm) wide, and 1.5 inches (3 cm) deep, and depicts the divine couple seated together on a coiled serpent throne — Vishnu to the left holding a conch shell and a mace, and Lakshmi to the right with one hand raised in a gesture of benediction — framed by a broad, scalloped prabhavali rising behind them.

The sculpture is produced using traditional lost-wax casting, a technique that enables the density of ornamentation visible across this composition at this scale. Both figures wear elaborately rendered crowns, layered necklaces, armlets, and draped garments, each element of jewelry resolved in fine relief with individually articulated bead rows and foliate borders. Vishnu's conch and mace are clearly formed, and the folds of the lower garments on both figures carry close, directional line work. The serpent hood behind the prabhavali is worked with overlapping scale patterning, and the scalloped arch itself carries a beaded outer border with pointed finials at each lobe. The coiled serpent base is rendered with visible scale texture and a structured, readable form. Super fine brass casting is what keeps the jewelry bead-work, crown detail, serpent scaling, and arch ornamentation crisp and legible throughout the composition.

Vishnu and Lakshmi seated together — often referred to as Lakshmi Narayan — represent one of the most widely venerated iconographic pairings in the Hindu tradition. Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, and Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, grace, and auspiciousness, are understood as inseparable: her presence is considered essential to his sustaining function. Their depiction on the serpent Shesha, who represents cosmic rest and eternal time, places the image within the Vaishnava cosmological framework of the universe held in balance.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been central to Indian devotional and decorative metalwork for centuries. It holds fine cast detail with fidelity, carries a warm tonal depth that develops with age, and is structurally durable — qualities that make it suited for both active ritual use and long-term display.

This piece carries a polished finish, visible in the bright warm gold tone across the raised surfaces of both crowns, jewelry, garment folds, serpent body, and prabhavali border, with darkened recesses in the carved channels, bead gaps, scale rows, and arch relief that give the composition its definition and depth. Handcrafted pieces carry natural variation in surface texture and tone between individual sculptures.

This Vishnu Lakshmi sculpture is well suited for a home puja room, a personal altar, gifting on occasions such as Diwali, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, or housewarmings, or as a collector's piece in classical Indian devotional metalwork.

Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
