Invite calm, clarity, and protective energy with this 4-inch Shiva Lingam in super-fine brass. The smooth lingam bears subtle tripundra lines and sits on an ornate avudaiyar (yoni base) with rich beadwork and scroll motifs. A coiled serpent and multi-hooded naga canopy guard the lingam, a trishul rises behind, and the elongated spout ends in a finely carved Nandi head—classic temple details in a display-worthy size. Perfect for home puja rooms, meditation corners, and gifting for Maha Shivaratri, Pradosham, housewarmings, and new beginnings. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Shiva Lingam with Naga & Nandi Spout | Super-Fine Handcrafted Brass

This 4-inch Shiva Lingam in superfine brass measures 10cm in height, 9cm in width, and 5cm in depth, weighing 200 grams. The piece presents the complete sacred ensemble — a smooth lingam bearing subtle tripundra markings set within an ornate avudaiyar base, with a coiled serpent wrapping the lingam's shaft, a multi-hooded naga canopy rising above it, a trishul and Om symbol positioned behind, and the elongated yoni spout terminating in a finely detailed Nandi head.

The casting reflects a high degree of skill in both sculptural proportion and surface work. The avudaiyar is rendered in two tiers — the upper rim carries consistent beadwork and scrolling floral borders, while the lower cylindrical base is worked with vertical channeling and dense arabesque motifs. The naga hood is individually articulated with scale detailing across each segment, and the Nandi head at the spout end shows defined features — ears, snout, and facial structure — achieved through careful hand-finishing after the initial cast. This level of detail at a 4-inch scale demands precision at every stage of the process, from wax modeling through final polishing.

The Shiva Lingam is the most fundamental form through which Shiva is venerated in Indian tradition. It represents the formless absolute, the axis of creation and dissolution. The naga canopy references Vasuki, Shiva's serpent, symbolizing protection and mastery over time. Nandi, the sacred bull and Shiva's vehicle, guards the threshold of every Shiva shrine, and the trishul represents the three fundamental forces Shiva commands.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc valued for its density, warm tone, and workability. It has been the preferred material for Indian devotional objects for centuries, developing character over time with regular use and care.

The finish is a warm polished brass tone with visible depth variation between the raised and recessed areas, giving the surface a three-dimensional quality. As a handcrafted piece, minor differences in texture, tone, and detailing from what appears in images are inherent to the process.

This piece is well-suited to a home puja room or personal meditation space, and makes a considered gift for Maha Shivaratri, Pradosham, housewarmings, or new beginnings.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
