Invite courage, clarity, and victory into your space with this Panchaloha Murugan Vel on a sturdy stand. Cast in the traditional five-metal alloy, the leaf-shaped spearhead features subtle tripundra lines and a tiny red stone accent, while the slim shaft rises from a temple-style round base for stable placement. Keep it beside a Murugan idol, at your home altar, business counter, or study desk to symbolize gnana shakti (divine wisdom) and protection. A meaningful pick for Skanda Shashti, Karthigai Deepam, housewarmings, and new ventures. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Murugan Vel with Stand | Handcrafted Panchaloha

This 4.25-inch Murugan Vel is cast in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian five-metal alloy, and mounted on a tiered round base that allows stable freestanding placement on any flat surface. The piece measures 4.25 inches in height and 1.5 inches across the base, weighing approximately 100 grams — compact enough for a desk or altar shelf, yet substantial in hand.

The Vel is shaped as a leaf-pointed spearhead rising from a slender shaft. The spearhead carries incised tripundra lines — the three horizontal marks associated with Shaiva iconography — along with a small red stone set at the center, giving the otherwise austere form a precise focal point. The shaft is clean and straight, connecting the spearhead to a domed junction collar before meeting the stepped circular base. The entire form follows the proportions seen in traditional temple Vel representations, where the weapon is treated as a complete sacred object rather than a subsidiary accessory.

In South Indian tradition, the Vel is inseparable from Lord Murugan, also known as Skanda or Kartikeya. It is not merely a weapon but an embodiment of gnana shakti — the power of wisdom and discernment. Devotees place the Vel in their homes and workplaces as a symbol of clarity, protection, and the removal of ignorance. It holds particular significance during Skanda Shashti and Karthigai Deepam observances.

Panchaloha — an alloy of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron in prescribed proportions — has been the preferred material for South Indian sacred castings for centuries. It is valued for its ritual sanctity, structural density, and the warm, reddish-gold tone it develops after polishing. This piece carries a polished finish that brings out the alloy's natural warmth across both the spearhead and the base.

Because each piece is individually handcrafted, minor variation in surface tone, texture, and detailing is inherent to the process and reflects the nature of hand-finished metalwork. This Vel suits a puja room, home altar, study desk, or business counter, and makes a considered gift for housewarmings or new ventures.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
