Celebrate abundance and nourishment with this 3-inch Panchaloha Annapoorani Idol, beautifully handcrafted by South Indian artisans using the sacred five-metal alloy. Annapoorani, the Goddess of food and nourishment, is depicted in a seated pose, holding a vessel and ladle, symbolizing eternal sustenance and divine grace. Her calm and motherly expression, intricate jewelry, and flowing attire are sculpted with fine detail, reflecting the essence of traditional Shilpa Shastra craftsmanship. Resting on a lotus-petal base, this idol brings serenity and prosperity to your prayer space. Ideal for home altars, Navaratri golu, spiritual gifting, or travel altars, this compact idol not only enhances your decor but also invites the goddess’s blessings into your daily life. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Graceful Annapoorani Idol | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Green Patina

This 4-inch Annapoorani idol is handcrafted in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian five-metal alloy, and measures 4 inches in height, 2.5 inches wide, and 2 inches deep, weighing approximately 300 grams.

The figure is cast and finished by hand following the iconographic conventions of the Shilpa Shastra, the classical Indian treatise that governs the proportions, posture, and ornamentation of deity sculpture. Annapoorani is depicted here in a composed seated posture on a tiered lotus-petal base, her hands positioned to hold a vessel and ladle — the two attributes that define her iconographic identity. The crown rises in a tapering stack consistent with South Indian temple sculptural tradition. The ornamentation across the neck, chest, and ears is rendered with fine surface chasing, and the face carries a calm, slightly downward gaze that is characteristic of the form. The detailing on the base petals and the layered jewelry reflects the patience and precision that this scale of work demands.

Annapoorani, literally meaning "she who is full of food," is a form of the goddess Parvati revered as the source of all nourishment. Her presence in a home or puja space is associated with the sustenance of the household and gratitude for food, making her worship particularly significant in South Indian domestic traditions. She is also invoked during Navaratri and placed as part of the golu arrangement.

Panchaloha is an alloy composed of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron in proportions governed by classical texts. It has been the preferred material for consecrated South Indian temple icons for centuries, valued for its ritual sanctity, structural integrity, and the warmth of its cast surface.

This piece carries an antique green patina, visible across the surface as seen in the image, with areas of deeper bronze tone at raised details. As a handcrafted object, each idol will carry its own variation in patina distribution and surface texture.

This idol is suited for a home puja room, a Navaratri golu display, a travel altar, or as a considered gift for housewarmings and spiritual occasions.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
