Celebrate pure devotion with this 4-inch Panchaloha Andal idol. Handcast in the traditional five-metal alloy (copper, zinc, tin, silver, and gold), it’s durable, auspicious, and finished with a warm antique sheen. Andal stands gracefully on a temple-style base, adorned with intricate jewelry and layered drapery. The parrot resting on her hand symbolizes love and divine message, while the gentle posture captures her bhakti to Lord Ranganatha. Perfect for puja rooms, study or work desks, and gifting on Aadi Pooram, Margazhi season, weddings, or housewarmings. Place it in your sacred corner to invite devotion, harmony, and blessings at home. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Divine Andal with Parrot | Handcrafted Panchaloha

This 4-inch Andal idol is handcrafted in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian five-metal alloy composed of copper, zinc, tin, silver, and gold, and measures 4 inches in height with a footprint of 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches, weighing 120 grams.

The figure is cast using the lost-wax method, a process that demands close attention at every stage — from modeling the wax original to pouring the molten alloy and refining the cooled casting by hand. The level of detail visible on this piece reflects that care: layered drapery rendered with fine ridging across the lower body, shoulder ornaments, arm bangles, a tall crown, and a necklace that sits flush against the chest. Andal stands in a gentle tribhanga posture on a tiered lotus base with petal molding, her right hand extended forward and her left arm raised to support a parrot perched near her shoulder. The expression is composed and inward, consistent with classical South Indian iconographic convention for devotional figures.

Andal, the only female among the twelve Alvars, is venerated as both poet-saint and divine consort of Lord Ranganatha. Her Tiruppavai and Nachiyar Tirumozhi remain living liturgical texts recited daily in Vaishnava temples. The parrot she carries is understood within this tradition as a messenger of devotion, a symbol drawn from her own verses. Worship of Andal is especially observed during the Margazhi month and on Aadi Pooram, when her life and poetry are central to the ritual calendar.

Panchaloha has been the material of choice for consecrated temple icons in South India for well over a millennium. The inclusion of silver and gold alongside the base metals gives the alloy a warm, slightly luminous surface and contributes to its ritual standing and long-term stability.

This idol carries a polished finish, visible in the bright, even tone across the surface with warm copper-gold undertones. As a handcrafted piece, it will carry minor variation in surface texture and color from what is shown — this is inherent to the process and expected.

It is suited to a home puja room, personal altar, or as a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, or the Aadi Pooram and Margazhi seasons.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
