This handcrafted Kamadhenu idol, cast in super fine brass, stands 4.5 inches (11 cm) tall, 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide, and 1 inches (2.5 cm) deep, weighing approximately 310 g, and presents the sacred wish-fulfilling cow in a composed standing posture — four-legged, with the body of a cow richly adorned, and a serene human face crowned with an ornate mukuta rising to a finial at its apex.

The sculpture is produced using traditional lost-wax casting, a method that demands close attention from wax modelling through mould preparation, metal pour, and hand finishing. At this scale, super fine brass sustains a remarkable level of iconographic resolution. The body is overlaid with layered feather and wing forms — each individually resolved, fanning outward across the flanks — while the back rises into a pronounced cresting plume of foliate and scrollwork motifs, rendered with the crispness that super fine brass casting sustains even at compact dimensions. The human face is calm and frontal, with defined eyes, a faint expression of composure, and multi-stranded necklaces falling across the chest. A wide, beaded torque frames the collar, and anklets are visible at each of the four legs. The ornamental detail reads with clarity across the entire surface, which is consistent with the density and workability of super fine brass at this grade of casting.

Kamadhenu, known in Sanskrit tradition as the divine cow who fulfills all wishes, holds a singular place in Hindu cosmology. She is understood as the mother of all cattle, a symbol of abundance, purity, and the generative capacity of the earth. Her form — combining the sacred cow with human and celestial attributes — is venerated as an embodiment of all that nourishes: material prosperity, spiritual merit, and familial wellbeing. She is associated with the sage Vasishtha in Vedic narrative and is considered an auspicious presence in the household.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been central to Indian devotional and decorative metalwork for centuries. It holds fine cast detail with high fidelity, develops a warm tonal depth over time, and is structurally durable — qualities that suit it equally for active ritual use and long-term display.

This sculpture carries a double Chola finish, visible in the deep teal-green that settles across the body, the feathered flanks, and the cresting plume, with warm brass-gold tones surfacing at the raised edges of the jewelry, the crown, the face, and the tips of the ornamental scrollwork. The tonal contrast gives the piece depth and draws the eye across its layered ornamentation. Handcrafted pieces carry natural variation in surface texture and tone between individual sculptures.

This Kamadhenu idol is well suited for a puja room or home altar, for gifting on auspicious occasions, or as a collector's piece in South Indian devotional brassware.

Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
