About This Piece

4.5″ Ganesha Pooja Lamp with Arch | Super-Fine Handcrafted Brass

This 4.5-inch Ganesha Pooja Lamp is cast in superfine brass and combines two devotional forms into a single object: a seated Ganesha idol set within an ornate prabhavali arch, mounted above a functional diya bowl on a structured pedestal. The piece measures 4.5 inches in height, 2 inches in width, and 3 inches in depth, and weighs 100 grams.

The craftsmanship across this piece is dense and deliberate. The prabhavali — the flaming or leafed aureole that frames a deity in classical Indian iconography — is rendered here with tightly packed feather-like relief work along its outer edge, framing an inner oval border of fine beading. Ganesha sits centrally within this arch in a composed, frontal posture with four arms, each carrying the traditional attributes of the form. The diya bowl below is wide and rounded, with a flat rim suited for holding a cotton wick, and the pedestal beneath it carries layered floral and scroll carvings consistent with temple-craft traditions. Every surface has been worked with precision, with no part of the piece left undetailed.

Ganesha is invoked at the beginning of every significant undertaking in Hindu tradition — rituals, new ventures, festivals, and housewarmings. The combination of a Ganesha idol with a functional oil lamp deepens this purpose: the lamp itself is an act of offering, and Ganesha's presence over it marks the intention with which the flame is lit.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been used in Indian devotional objects for centuries. It holds fine detail during casting, develops a warm golden tone over time, and is durable enough to remain in active use across generations. At 100 grams, this piece has noticeable weight relative to its size, which reflects the density of the alloy used.

The finish is a polished antique tone — dark in the recessed areas, with lighter relief on the raised surfaces — giving the piece visual depth and a worn, aged quality consistent with what you would find in a long-used puja object. As with all handcrafted brass pieces, minor variation in tone and surface texture is inherent to the process.

This lamp is suited for a home puja room, a brass collection, an entrance altar, or as a considered gift for Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, or a housewarming.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
