About This Piece

2.5″ Round-Base Ganesha | Super-Fine Handcrafted Brass

This 2.75-inch seated Ganesha idol is cast in superfine brass and finished with a polished antique treatment that brings the sculpted surface into sharp visual relief. The piece measures 2.75 inches in height, 2.25 inches in width, and 1.75 inches in depth, and weighs 70 grams — compact in scale but dense and substantial in hand.

The idol is cast using traditional lost-wax techniques that allow fine detail to be captured at this small scale without losing clarity. Ganesha is shown seated in lalitasana on a round base whose entire circumference is worked with layered decorative motifs — scrollwork and floral patterning that required careful hand-finishing after casting. The crown rises in a sunburst formation with pointed petals, and a matching halo frames the head. The four arms are fully rendered, with two attendant figures flanking the shoulders at the rear. The front hands hold a modak bowl and display the abhaya gesture; the upper hands carry the ankusha and pasha. The trunk curves gently to the left. Beaded necklaces, detailed garment folds at the lap, and fine ornamentation across the torso reflect close attention to iconographic convention.

In Hindu tradition, Ganesha is worshipped before any undertaking — a new business, a home, a journey, a ceremony. The ankusha removes obstacles and the pasha binds difficulty; together they represent guidance and protection. The modaks signify reward and the sweetness that follows right action. This iconographic combination is among the most complete and widely venerated forms of Ganesha.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc prized for its warm golden tone, workability under fine tools, and resistance to corrosion over decades. It has been the primary material for Indian devotional metalwork for centuries, valued precisely because it holds detail and ages with character.

The antique polish finish deepens the olive-gold tone visible across the piece, settling into recessed areas to create contrast that makes the ornamentation legible. Because the piece is individually handcrafted, minor variation in surface tone and texture from the images shown is natural and expected.

This Ganesha is well suited to a puja shelf, a study desk, or as a considered gift for a housewarming, Ganesh Chaturthi, or the start of a new venture.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
