Invite the paired blessings of protection and prosperity with this 3-inch Lakshmi Narayanan idol. Handcrafted in the traditional South Indian Panchaloha alloy (copper, zinc, tin, gold, and silver), it carries sacred resonance and lasting strength. Lord Narayana is shown seated in lalitasana, holding the shankha and chakra, with his blessing hand raised. Goddess Lakshmi rests gracefully at his side, symbolising abundance and grace. The crowns, ornaments, and lotus-style pedestal are finely detailed, giving this compact piece a refined, devotional presence. Perfect for home puja shelves, office desks, and travel altars, and a thoughtful gift for housewarmings, weddings, Vaikunta Ekadashi, or Diwali. Place it in your sacred corner to invite harmony, wealth, and steady protection every day. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

3″ Lakshmi Narayanan Idol | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Green Patina

This 3-inch Lakshmi Narayanan idol is handcrafted in Panchaloha, a sacred South Indian alloy comprising copper, zinc, tin, gold, and silver, measuring 7cm in height, 5cm in width, and 4cm in depth, with a finished weight of 250 grams.

The form follows a well-established iconographic tradition in South Indian temple sculpture. Lord Narayana is depicted seated in lalitasana, one leg folded and the other resting downward in a posture that conveys both sovereignty and approachability. His upper hands hold the shankha and chakra, and his right lower hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and reassurance. Goddess Lakshmi is shown seated at his side, her presence compact but clearly rendered within the composition. The crowns on both figures are stacked and detailed, consistent with the kirita makuta style seen in classical Vaishnava iconography. The lotus-style pedestal grounds the piece with architectural precision. Achieving this level of articulation at three inches requires considerable skill in both wax modelling and finish work, as small-scale casting leaves almost no margin for imprecision.

Lakshmi Narayanan as a paired form represents the inseparable union of preservation and prosperity. Narayana, as Vishnu, holds the cosmos in balance, while Lakshmi embodies abundance, grace, and auspiciousness. In Vaishnava tradition, worshipping them together is considered complete in itself, invoking both protection and material and spiritual flourishing.

Panchaloha has been used in South Indian devotional casting for over a millennium. The inclusion of gold and silver alongside copper, zinc, and tin gives the alloy both ritual significance and physical density. It is harder and more stable than standard brass, making it well suited to fine detail work and long-term preservation.

The finish on this piece is an antique green patina, visible across the surface as a deep verdigris tone with areas of underlying warm bronze showing through. This finish is applied by hand and develops subtle variation across each piece. No two castings will carry identical coloration or surface texture, which is inherent to the handcraft process.

This idol is well suited to a home puja shelf, a personal altar, or as a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, or Vaikunta Ekadashi.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
