Invoke the divine presence of Goddess Kamakshi, the embodiment of love, compassion, and spiritual strength, with this 3-inch handcrafted brass idol. Seated gracefully in Padmasana (lotus posture), Goddess Kamakshi—an aspect of Parvati and the presiding deity of Kanchipuram—is depicted holding her symbolic attributes with serene elegance. Intricately detailed and polished in lustrous brass, this compact idol radiates divine feminine energy and blessings of wealth, wisdom, and inner peace. Ideal for compact home temples, meditation spaces, and gifting during festivals like Navaratri or auspicious occasions. Crafted by traditional artisans, this idol is a beautiful representation of South Indian Shakti tradition, combining spiritual significance with timeless craftsmanship. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

3″ Kamakshi Amman Idol | Handcrafted Panchaloha

This 3.25-inch Kamakshi Amman idol is cast in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian alloy composed of five metals — gold, silver, copper, iron, and lead or zinc — and finished to a warm, polished brass tone. The figure is seated in Padmasana, the lotus posture, on a tiered decorative pedestal with ribbed and relief-worked edges that reflect the classical South Indian temple sculpture tradition.

The idol is shaped using lost-wax casting, a process that allows fine surface detail to be achieved before additional hand-finishing refines the form. The crown is tall and structured, carrying a crescent moon at its crest — a mark associated with Shaiva iconography and Kamakshi's identity as an aspect of Parvati. The four arms are extended outward, each holding a distinct attribute, and the ornamentation across the chest, arms, and waist has been worked with care — the necklaces, armlets, and waistband are all visible in the casting rather than applied separately. The face holds a composed, frontal expression characteristic of Agamic sculptural convention.

Kamakshi is the presiding deity of Kanchipuram and one of the three primary Shakti Peethas of South India. She is understood as Tripura Sundari in her benevolent, seated form — governing desire, compassion, and liberation simultaneously. In South Indian household worship, her idol is maintained as a central object of daily puja, particularly during Navaratri.

Panchaloha has been the prescribed material for consecrated idols in the South Indian temple tradition for over a millennium. The alloy is valued for its density, resonance, and the belief that its composition holds both material and ritual significance. It acquires a warm, stable tone over time and does not corrode under regular ritual use.

This piece carries a polished finish that brings out the bright golden tone of the alloy, as visible in the image. Because each idol is individually cast and finished by hand, minor variation in surface texture, tone, and fine detailing is natural and expected. This idol suits a home puja room, personal altar, or as a considered gift for Navaratri or a housewarming occasion.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
