About This Piece

Divine Boga Shakthi | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Green Patina

This Boga Shakthi idol stands 3.5 inches tall and measures 1.5 inches in width and depth, cast in Panchaloha, the sacred five-metal alloy used in South Indian temple iconography for over a thousand years. The figure is seated in a relaxed posture on a tiered lotus pedestal, with one leg extended and resting at the base — a posture known as lalitasana — conveying ease and sovereign calm rather than rigid formality.

The idol is shaped and finished entirely by hand. The face carries a composed, gently smiling expression with finely defined features — almond-shaped eyes, a clear third-eye marking, and elongated earlobes with ornamental earrings. A tall crown rises from the head, worked with layered detail. The body is adorned with cast jewelry across the neck, arms, and waist, and the right hand is raised in a gesture that draws directly from classical iconographic convention. Achieving this level of surface articulation at this scale requires skilled hand-chiseling after the initial casting, a stage that separates genuine craft work from machine-finished reproductions.

Boga Shakthi is a form of the divine feminine associated with abundance, auspiciousness, and the sustaining energy underlying creation. In South Indian devotional tradition, such forms of Shakti are invoked for material well-being alongside spiritual strength, making this a theologically specific form rather than a generic goddess figure.

Panchaloha — an alloy traditionally composed of copper, gold, silver, iron, and lead or zinc in varying proportions — is considered ritually sanctified and has been the prescribed material for consecrated South Indian temple idols. It carries a warm, dense quality that distinguishes it from plain brass or bronze.

The finish on this piece is an antique green patina, applied to bring out the surface relief and age the metal visually. The photograph shows the characteristic blue-green tonal variation across the raised and recessed areas. Because each piece is individually cast and finished, the precise depth and distribution of the patina will vary naturally between pieces.

This idol is suited for a home puja room, a personal altar, or as a considered gift for someone with an appreciation for classical Indian sculptural tradition.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
