Celebrate pure devotion with this 4-inch Panchaloha Andal idol. Handcast in the traditional five-metal alloy (copper, zinc, tin, silver, and gold), it’s durable, auspicious, and finished with a warm antique sheen. Andal stands gracefully on a temple-style base, adorned with intricate jewelry and layered drapery. The parrot resting on her hand symbolizes love and divine message, while the gentle posture captures her bhakti to Lord Ranganatha. Perfect for puja rooms, study or work desks, and gifting on Aadi Pooram, Margazhi season, weddings, or housewarmings. Place it in your sacred corner to invite devotion, harmony, and blessings at home. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Divine Andal with Parrot | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Green Patina

This 4-inch Andal idol is handcast in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian five-metal alloy comprising copper, zinc, tin, silver, and gold, and stands on a tiered lotus-petal base measuring 10cm in height and 4cm across. The piece weighs 120 grams, giving it a reassuring solidity for its size.

The form follows the iconographic conventions of Andal as she appears in temple traditions — standing in a gentle tribhanga posture, adorned with layered necklaces, armlets, and an ornate crown. The casting captures fine surface detail across the drapery folds, waistband, and jewelry work, all of which require skilled hand-finishing after the initial pour. A parrot rests on her raised right hand, an attribute closely associated with Andal in devotional imagery, representing the messenger of love and the living connection between the devotee and the divine. Her expression is composed and inward-facing, consistent with the mood of deep bhakti rather than dramatic gesture.

Andal, the only female among the twelve Alvars, is venerated for her complete surrender to Lord Ranganatha. Her compositions — the Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi — remain central to Vaishnava worship, particularly during the Margazhi season and Aadi Pooram observances. This form embodies that tradition of ardent, unmediated devotion.

Panchaloha has been used in South Indian temple sculpture for over a millennium. The inclusion of five metals, each carrying specific ritual and material significance, makes it the prescribed alloy for consecrated idols in the Agamic tradition. The resulting material is dense, workable, and stable over generations.

The antique green finish is visible across the surface, deepening within the recessed ornamental details and lending the piece an aged, temple-weathered quality. As with all handcast work, minor variation in tone, surface texture, and fine detailing from piece to piece is inherent to the process and reflects its handmade origin.

This idol is suited for a home puja room, personal altar, or as a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, or occasions tied to the Vaishnava devotional calendar.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
