A graceful form of Lord Perumal (Vishnu), crafted in pure panchaloha and finished with a rich polished sheen. Standing tall at 8.5 inches, this sculpture captures Perumal’s divine poise — holding the chakra and shankha, symbolising protection, balance, and the preservation of dharma. Perfect for home temples, pooja rooms, and as a meaningful gift for auspicious beginnings. Its polished finish adds a temple-like presence to any space. Care: Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water and chemicals to maintain the shine. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

8.5″ Perumal Statue | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Polished Finish

This 8.5-inch standing figure of Lord Perumal is cast in panchaloha, the traditional five-metal alloy used in South Indian temple sculpture, and finished with a polished sheen that gives the surface a deep, silvered brightness. The idol measures 8.5 inches in height, 4 inches in width, and 3 inches in depth, and weighs approximately 1000 grams.

The figure is rendered in the classical standing posture, with four arms extending in precise iconographic arrangement. The upper right hand holds the Sudarshana Chakra, the discus that represents cosmic order and the destruction of forces that oppose dharma. The upper left holds what appears to be the Panchajanya Shankha, the conch whose sound is associated with the primordial vibration of creation. The lower right hand is raised in abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and reassurance, while the lower left rests at the side. The tall, fluted crown — the kirita mukuta — rises sharply above an elaborately detailed face with a composed, open expression. The torso carries layered ornamental detailing across the chest, waist, and upper arms. The figure stands on a tiered lotus pedestal with engraved scroll-work around its base, a form closely associated with classical Vaishnava temple iconography.

In Hindu tradition, Perumal — the form of Vishnu worshipped particularly in the Vaishnava temples of South India — embodies preservation, cosmic protection, and the sustenance of dharma across all ages. The attributes he carries are not decorative; each carries precise theological meaning within the Pancharatra and Agamic traditions that govern temple worship.

Panchaloha is an alloy of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron, proportioned according to Agamic specifications. It has been the canonical material for South Indian devotional sculpture for over a thousand years, valued for its density, workability, and the warm metallic tone it develops over time.

The polished finish gives this piece a bright, temple-mirror quality. As with all handcrafted work, individual pieces will carry subtle variation in surface tone and fine detailing. This idol is suited to a home puja room, a personal altar, or as a considered gift for a housewarming or auspicious occasion.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
