This Swamimalai Murugar statue captures the divine grace and warrior spirit of Lord Murugan, the God of Courage and Victory. Handcrafted in pure panchaloha with a radiant polished finish, the sculpture reflects the timeless Swamimalai style—sharp features, intricate ornaments, and the iconic Vel held with divine authority. At 6 inches, it’s perfect for home altars, study tables, office shelves, or as a powerful gifting piece for auspicious beginnings. Meaning: Murugar represents wisdom, strength, and protection. Placing Him at home is believed to bring clarity, courage, and positive energy. Care: Wipe with a soft dry cloth; avoid chemicals to maintain the natural shine. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

6″ Swamimalai Murugar | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Polished Finish

This 6-inch Swamimalai Murugar idol is handcrafted in panchaloha, the traditional South Indian alloy, and finished to a bright polished surface. The figure stands upright in a composed, frontal posture on a stepped lotus base, holding the Vel — the sacred spear — in his right hand, which extends to the full height of the form. The left hand rests at the side in a natural, grounded position. The expression is one of composed strength, with strong facial features, wide eyes, and a slight upward set to the mouth that reflects both authority and calm.

The casting follows the iconographic conventions established in Swamimalai temple sculpture traditions, where Murugan is rendered as a warrior deity adorned with layered jewelry, a structured crown, armored shoulder pieces, and a detailed waist cloth with carved folds. The level of ornamentation across the torso, arms, and lower garments is precise and consistent — a result of skilled hand-finishing work applied after the initial casting. The Vel itself is finely detailed with a leaf-shaped blade and raised ridging along the shaft.

Lord Murugan, also known as Karthikeya or Subramanya, is one of the principal deities of South Indian devotional tradition. He is associated with wisdom, moral courage, and the defeat of ignorance. Worship of Murugan is considered auspicious for clarity of purpose and protection against adversity.

Panchaloha is a five-metal alloy — gold, silver, copper, brass, and iron — historically used in consecrated idol-making across South India. It is valued for its density, its warm silver-toned surface when polished, and its long-term stability. The polished finish on this piece gives it a bright, reflective quality that holds well with regular gentle care.

As a handcrafted object, this idol will carry natural variation in surface tone, texture, and fine detailing from piece to piece. This 6-inch, 600-gram idol is well-suited to a home puja room, a personal altar, or as a considered gift for auspicious occasions.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
