Celebrate knowledge, music, and clarity with this 5-inch Saraswati idol under an ornate prabhavali. Handcast in the traditional South Indian Panchaloha alloy (five sacred metals), it offers auspicious energy, durability, and a warm antique sheen. Goddess Saraswati is seated gracefully with the veena across her lap; her serene expression and layered ornaments are finely detailed. The carved arch with floral motifs frames the idol, adding temple-style grandeur while remaining compact enough for any space. Perfect for study tables, music rooms, classrooms, and office desks, and a thoughtful gift for Vidyarambham, Saraswati Puja, Navaratri, or exam season. Place it in your sacred corner to invite learning, creativity, and steady concentration every day. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

5″ Divine Saraswati with Arch | Handcrafted Panchaloha

This 5-inch Saraswati idol, measuring 5″H × 4″W × 2.5″D and weighing 600 grams, is handcast in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian alloy comprising five sacred metals. The piece is framed within an ornate prabhavali — a temple-style arch — and presented on a structured tiered base, giving it a form consistent with classical South Indian iconographic conventions.

The casting process used to produce this idol follows a lost-wax method that has been practiced in South Indian metal sculpture for well over a thousand years. The level of detail achieved here — the layered crown, the facial features, the textile folds across the seated figure's lap, and the dense floral and foliate motifs covering the prabhavali — requires skilled hand-finishing at multiple stages after the initial pour. The arch is topped with a kirtimukha face and flanked by scrolling foliage, with the structural pillars at either side adding architectural framing that mirrors the design language of temple bronzes.

Saraswati is the presiding deity of knowledge, language, music, and discernment in the Hindu tradition. She is depicted here in her most recognizable form: seated, holding the veena across her lap, her expression composed and inward-looking. This form has been venerated in homes, schools, and temples for centuries, particularly during Saraswati Puja, Vidyarambham, and Navaratri.

Panchaloha — an alloy of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron in prescribed proportions — has been the canonical material for South Indian devotional bronzes since the Chola period. It is prized for its density, its acoustic resonance when struck, and the warm, dark tone it develops over time. The polish finish applied here brings out a bright silver-toned sheen across the surface, with the recessed areas retaining a deeper, darker tone that accentuates the carved detail.

As a handcrafted object, this piece carries natural variation in surface texture, tone, and finishing detail from one casting to the next. This is a characteristic of the process, not a flaw. This idol suits a dedicated puja space, a study table, a music room, or serves as a considered gift for occasions tied to learning and the arts.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
