4″ Standing Garuda in Anjali Mudra | Handcrafted Panchaloha

Panchaloha is a mixture of Copper, Zinc, Tin, Gold & Silver.

The form follows the classical devotional iconography of Garuda in anjali mudra — hands pressed together at the chest in a gesture of complete surrender and reverence before Lord Vishnu. The wings are spread outward and upward from the shoulders, each feather rendered with deliberate, fine striation. The figure stands upright on a tiered, temple-style square base with moulded detailing along its edges. The crown rises in a tapering form consistent with South Indian sculptural tradition, and the facial expression carries a quality of alert calm — watchful, composed, composed without aggression. The torso, waist sash, and lower garment folds are all cast with the kind of dimensional clarity that requires both a refined wax model and a skilled hand at the finishing stage. The polished surface catches light across the raised planes of the face, wings, and ornaments, while the recessed areas retain a slightly deeper tone, giving the piece visual depth.

Garuda holds a specific and significant place in Vaishnava tradition. As the vahana of Lord Vishnu, he represents unwavering devotion, courage, and the capacity to carry divine will into action. His presence in a puja space is understood to invoke protection and resolve.
