Invoke courage and protection with this 4-inch standing Garuda idol. Handcast in the traditional South Indian Panchaloha alloy (copper, zinc, tin, silver, and gold), it carries a warm, lasting finish. Garuda—the divine mount of Lord Vishnu—is depicted upright with folded hands, wings spread, and a serene, watchful gaze. The crown, ornaments, feathers, and temple-style base are finely detailed, giving the piece a strong devotional presence in a compact size. Perfect for home puja rooms, office desks, and travel altars, and a thoughtful gift for Vaikunta Ekadashi, Garuda Panchami, housewarmings, or new beginnings. Place it in your sacred corner to invite safety, resolve, and steady devotion. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Standing Garuda in Anjali Mudra | Handcrafted Panchaloha

This 4-inch standing Garuda idol is handcast in Panchaloha, the traditional South Indian five-metal alloy comprising copper, zinc, tin, silver, and gold, and measures 10 cm in height, 5 cm in width, and 4 cm in depth, weighing approximately 200 grams.

The form follows the classical devotional iconography of Garuda in anjali mudra — hands pressed together at the chest in a gesture of complete surrender and reverence before Lord Vishnu. The wings are spread outward and upward from the shoulders, each feather rendered with deliberate, fine striation. The figure stands upright on a tiered, temple-style square base with moulded detailing along its edges. The crown rises in a tapering form consistent with South Indian sculptural tradition, and the facial expression carries a quality of alert calm — watchful, composed, composed without aggression. The torso, waist sash, and lower garment folds are all cast with the kind of dimensional clarity that requires both a refined wax model and a skilled hand at the finishing stage. The polished surface catches light across the raised planes of the face, wings, and ornaments, while the recessed areas retain a slightly deeper tone, giving the piece visual depth.

Garuda holds a specific and significant place in Vaishnava tradition. As the vahana of Lord Vishnu, he represents unwavering devotion, courage, and the capacity to carry divine will into action. His presence in a puja space is understood to invoke protection and resolve.

Panchaloha has been the material of choice for South Indian temple icons for over a millennium. The inclusion of five metals, each with distinct properties, produces an alloy valued for its density, structural integrity, and the warm luminosity it holds after polishing. It is considered both ritually significant and materially durable.

The polished finish on this piece is bright and even across the figure. As with all handcrafted work, minor variation in surface tone, texture, and fine detailing from piece to piece is inherent to the process and reflects its handmade character.

This idol is suited to a home puja room, a personal altar, or as a considered gift for Garuda Panchami, Vaikunta Ekadashi, or a housewarming.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
