Invite calm strength and protection with this 4-inch Shiva idol in super-fine brass. Seated in padmasana on a tiger-skin pedestal, Shiva holds the trishul and damaru while his other hands rest in serene meditation. The matted locks, coiled serpent, and rudraksha malas are crisply detailed, giving the piece a temple-grade presence in a compact size. Perfect for puja rooms, meditation corners, desks, and gifting on Maha Shivaratri, Pradosham, housewarmings, and new beginnings. Note: At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

4″ Lord Shiva in Meditation with Trishul & Damaru | Super-Fine Handcrafted Brass

This 4-inch brass sculpture depicts Lord Shiva seated in padmasana, holding a trishul in his upper right hand and a damaru in his upper left, with his lower hands resting in a composed meditative gesture. The piece measures 4 inches in height, 3 inches in width, and 1.75 inches in depth, and is cast in superfine brass with a polished finish.

The sculpting work on this piece reflects a close reading of classical Shaiva iconography. The jatamukuta — Shiva's characteristic coiled, matted hair stacked into a tall crown — is rendered with visible layering and detail. Rudraksha malas fall across the chest in multiple strands, and the surface of the torso, arms, and base pedestal carry fine texture work that reads clearly even at this compact scale. The base is sculpted as a tiger skin, with a tiger's face visible at the front — a direct iconographic reference to Shiva's dominion over nature and the untamed. The expression on the face is still and inward, consistent with the Dakshinamurti tradition of Shiva as the silent teacher in meditation.

In Hindu tradition, Shiva is one of the Trimurti — the destroyer and transformer whose stillness contains infinite potential. The trishul represents the three fundamental forces he governs: creation, preservation, and dissolution. The damaru's rhythm is understood as the first sound of creation. Together, these attributes in a meditative form present Shiva not as a deity of destruction but of deep stillness and cosmic order.

Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been the preferred material for Indian devotional sculpture for centuries. It holds fine detail well during casting, develops a warm golden tone under polish, and remains structurally stable over long periods without significant degradation.

The polished finish on this piece gives the brass a bright, even warmth across the surface, with slight tonal depth visible in the recessed areas of the carving. As with all handcrafted work, no two pieces are identical — minor variation in surface texture and tone is inherent to the process and confirms the piece's handmade origin.

This sculpture is well suited for a personal puja space, meditation corner, or as a considered gift for Maha Shivaratri, Pradosham, or a housewarming.

Shipping & Care

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
