A serene representation of Manavala Mamunigal, the revered Sri Vaishnava acharya known for his deep devotion and teachings. Shown in a humble namaskaram posture, this idol reflects surrender, wisdom, and the path of bhakti. The serpent hood above adds a unique symbolic presence, enhancing the spiritual aura of the piece. Handcrafted in traditional panchaloha, this sculpture carries the sanctity associated with sacred metal casting. The polished finish brings out the fine detailing in the facial expression, ornaments, and posture, giving it a refined and graceful look. At 3 inches, it is ideal for personal pooja spaces, compact altars, or as a meaningful spiritual companion for daily prayers. It also makes a thoughtful gift for those connected to Vaishnava traditions and acharya parampara. Note:At Cosmic Studio, every sculpture is individually handcrafted, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, and detailing are a natural result of the artisanal process and are considered marks of authenticity. These unique characteristics, along with potential differences in lighting and screen displays, may cause the product to appear slightly different from the images shown.

About This Piece

3″ Manavala Mamunigal Idol for Pooja & Home Décor | Handcrafted Panchaloha | Polished Finish

This 3-inch Manavala Mamunigal idol is handcrafted in panchaloha, the traditional five-metal alloy used in South Indian sacred casting, and measures 3 inches in height, 1.5 inches in width, and 1.25 inches in depth, weighing 150 grams.

The figure is rendered in the namaskaram posture, with hands pressed together at the chest in a gesture of complete surrender and reverence. The idol sits cross-legged on a tiered, ornately carved pedestal base, and a multi-hood serpent canopy rises above the head, a compositional element rooted in Vaishnava iconographic tradition. Held alongside the figure is a staff bearing what appears to be the Urdhva Pundra symbol, the vertical mark associated with Sri Vaishnavism. The face carries a composed, slightly smiling expression, and the surface detailing across the crown, garments, and base reflects the careful hand-finishing that this form demands.

Manavala Mamunigal, also known as Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Nayanar, is one of the most venerated acharyas in the Sri Vaishnava tradition. A fifteenth-century scholar and devotee, he is credited with reviving and systematizing the Manipravala commentarial tradition and is regarded by many as a direct spiritual successor within the acharya lineage. This form, shown in humble prostration with the flag of the tradition beside him, reflects his identity as a devotee-teacher rather than a deity in the conventional sense.

Panchaloha is a sacred alloy composed of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron in traditional proportions. It has been the preferred material for consecrated idols and ritual objects in South Indian temple craft for centuries, valued for its religious sanctity, structural density, and the warm tonal depth it holds after polishing.

The polished finish on this piece brings the warm, bright tones of the alloy to the surface, clarifying the fine surface details in the face and ornamentation. As with all handcrafted panchaloha work, minor variation in tone and texture between pieces is inherent to the process and considered a mark of authenticity.

At 3 inches, this idol is well suited to a personal puja space, a compact home altar, or as a considered gift for those with a connection to Vaishnava tradition and acharya parampara.

How We Pack It

Every idol is individually wrapped in soft cloth and nestled in foam casing inside a double-walled corrugated box. We have shipped to 25+ countries without a single breakage complaint.

Orders are dispatched within 2-3 working days. Domestic delivery takes 5-7 days. International shipping takes 10-15 working days via tracked courier.

How to Care For It

Wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners, acidic solutions, or abrasive pads. For occasional deep cleaning, use warm water and mild soap — dry immediately after.

Brass and Panchaloha naturally develop patina over time. If you prefer the original finish, apply a thin coat of coconut oil monthly.
